Background
The TISS – MIT Education Technology Internships/Fellowships (CLIx) will provide interns an opportunity to come for short duration to work on educational technology projects for the Connected Learning Initiative. Interns will receive active mentoring from faculty and staff experts at TISS and MIT.

Through the Connected Learning Experience (CLIx), high school students across India will participate in engaging, interactive, hands-on learning experiences for the development of knowledge, skills and values empowering them to be successful in the 21st century. CLIx improves and strengthens student learning and skills in areas considered critical for access to further educational and employment opportunities. It supplements the high school curriculum in key areas, namely digital literacy, Communicative English, Mathematics, the Science subjects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and Value Education. CLIx (www.clix.tiss.edu) is a multi-year initiative of the Tata Trusts in collaboration with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Role & Responsibilities 
Curriculum Production: 
  • ​Intern(s) in this position will work with discipline-based curriculum teams and a development team to convert course material (converting text and assembling text, images, video, etc.) into the CLIx platform.
  • Each module will be 2-5 weeks of learning content (text, images, videos, interactive elements) for students in math, physics, english, chemistry and biology.
  • Interns should have an interest in curriculum development. Interns will need good experience in HTML authoring (including directly editing HTML tags) and ideally desktop publishing or similar production experience, good communication skills, ability to complete projects in a timely fashion.
  • The internship will be based at TISS, Mumbai.

Prerequisites 
  • HTML5/CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Web or desktop publishing
  • Curriculum development experience a plus
  • Good communication skills, especially in written and spoken English
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely fashion and adhere to the roadmap / deadlines of the projects

Compensation
The interns will be paid a stipend of Rs. 30,000 per month during the period of internship and honorarium to support their stay in MIT.

Application Process
  • Applicants should present copies of any relevant work or school projects that demonstrate their experience in curriculum production or software development.
  • The application requires candidates to submit a NOC from their institute and also two letters of recommendation on the format provided.
  • Telephonic interview and/or interviews by TISS/MIT team will be conducted tentatively by June 10th 2016.
  • Selected candidates will be informed by the June 17th 2016 and will be required to confirm acceptance by the June 24th 2016.
  • The internship/fellowship will begin after July 4th 2016 (tentative).
