Background
Global Indonesian Voices (GIV) is established for ‘Connecting Indonesia to the World‘ by publishing independent news and stories. The publication is intended to be purposeful online media that reports, informs, educates, unites and connects the world to the current political, social, cultural and commercial affairs of Indonesia. GIV is building a platform to spotlight, analyse, question and spark debate on issues that affect millions of Indonesians.
Role & Responsibilities
A Writer produces content for the publication, with concentration in digital. Following is the scope of work :
  • Writing high quality original English articles about the assigned topics within quick and tight deadlines.
  • Organizing and researching materials relevant to the assigned projects.
  • Interviewing sources via email or in-person and verify research results, when required.
  • Sourcing or collaborating with other contributors to produce new materials, when required.
  • Effectively translating documents or contents in both English and Bahasa Indonesia 
Prerequisites
  • Undergraduate degree in any discipline (future graduates are welcome to apply)
  • Ability to write high quality original articles in English
  • Highly skilled in critical and analytical writing
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Ability to work independently with general instruction and minimal supervision
  • Ability to meet quick and tight deadlines
